Dress Code

 

PLAYING THE COURSE
Thorney Park members and staff are proud of their Course and are delighted to share the golfing challenge. However, we would respectfully ask you to observe the following :

On Arrival
Please park only in the Main Car Park, never on the roadways or in those spaces reserved for Club officials.
All golfing visitors, including members’ guests, must report to the proshop before play.
Locker rooms only must be used for changing, please enquire at the Proshop for the entry code.
Please enquire at the bar or proshop for the car exit code.
On The Course
Golfers must have their own golf clubs and bag.
Gentlemen please pay from the yellow tees and Ladies the red tees
Replace divots and repair pitch marks on greens.
Smooth over club and footprint marks in bunkers and replace rakes.
Dress on the Course
Smart golfing attire is required at all times, plus:
No jeans, tracksuits, tee shirts, football colours, or vests may be worn.
Trousers, shorts, or cut-offs must be tailored.
Shirts must be tucked into waistbands, unless specifically designed to be worn outside.
Sports socks must be worn with shorts.
The tucking of trousers into socks is not permitted.
Players must wear recognised golf shoes. No trainers or similar shoes are allowed.
Course Etiquette
Slow play is to be avoided at all times. Call through players if a ball is lost or if you lose a hole.

DRESS IN THE CLUBHOUSE
The Lounge
Please wear smart, casual clothing.
Tracksuits, work clothes and headgear are not permitted.
Shirts must be tucked into waistbands, unless designed to be worn outside.
Spike Area
The patio entrance area of wooden floor in front of the bar is deemed a spike area. You are welcome to pop into the clubhouse at the turn for refreshments.

MOBILE PHONES
These must be silenced on the Course and in and around the Clubhouse.
It is the responsibility of members and guests to maintain standards of etiquette in a game which has traditions spanning nearly 600 years.

Should a problem arise, the Club Professional or a representative of the management will be happy to help.
